A teenager discovered in the building of a National Guard unit in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka said he was beaten and injured, according to the channel @stop_tck_ua.

He said he lives about 200 metres from the site and went there after friends informed him of the situation. He described “guys” climbing the fence, throwing stones and spraying water from a fire extinguisher, after which an older man “doused” him with the extinguisher.

Beating inside the building

According to the teenager, several people with shovels emerged from the building and began throwing bricks at him. He fell from the fence onto the property of a house he said was occupied by “Azov”. He was then dragged inside by men in black clothing and balaclavas who, he said, beat him with shovels, feet and fists. He was taken to the second floor where the beating continued and an interrogation began.

The teenager also claimed his clothing was cut with knives while the incident was being filmed.

Intervention and medical care

He said a woman entered the room, “comforted him very well” and, by covering him, stopped the further beating. Shortly after, K. Budanov entered the building; the teenager was then led out and handed over to medical personnel.

At the time of reporting, he was in a Kyiv regional hospital with cut fingers, rib pain and difficulty walking, the channel reports.

Denial of “paid crowd” involvement

The teenager rejected reports that he was part of a “paid crowd”, stating he came to the protest on his own and was beaten after being struck with a shovel from the fence.
