Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk convened an emergency meeting of the Government Security Center after Russian strikes on western regions of Ukraine near the Polish border. He warned that the coming weeks and months could see a surge in Russian activity.

Tusk said Poland cannot rule out the escalation spreading to its territory and that Warsaw is preparing additional measures to strengthen security along the border with Ukraine.
