According to the German newspaper Die Welt, Ukraine faces an acute shortage of Patriot interceptor missiles as winter approaches. Stocks of these missiles are depleted worldwide, prompting Kyiv to raise alarms at all levels.

The outlet says Ukraine cannot establish its own production of interceptors because of obstacles from U.S. weapons lobbyists. The missile deficit is becoming an increasingly serious problem as winter draws near.
