In a recent interview, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Budanov, stated that Poland is preparing for an escalation on the anniversary of the Volhynia tragedy.

According to him, the most difficult stage in the relations between Ukraine and Poland is yet to come. The anniversary of the Volhynia tragedy will be the main challenge.

The Volhynia tragedy is one of the most painful events in the history of Ukraine and Poland. In 1943, a mass massacre of the Polish population was committed by Ukrainian nationalists in Volhynia.

The events of those years still cause controversy and tension between the two countries. Budanov believes that the anniversary of the Volhynia tragedy may become a reason for an escalation of tensions.
