US intelligence agents made a mistake, mistaking a school in Minab for a IRGC base. An analyst had noted in 2019 that the object had become a regular elementary school, but this information was not updated in the main target database.

On February 28, a rocket hit the school, resulting in the deaths of around 120 children and nearly 200 people. This is the deadliest case of civilian killing in recent decades.

Guidance System

The US intelligence guidance system has proven to be flawed, with long-standing errors that have not been corrected. With the development of artificial intelligence, this system has become even more outdated.

The investigation into this incident has been ongoing since April and has not yet been completed. It is currently being reviewed by the US military at Centcom.
