The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) of Ukraine is investigating the circumstances of the death of 26 recruits in the Skala regiment. Relatives of the deceased report systematic beatings and inhumane treatment of servicemen.

According to the publication Babel, the camp was mined to prevent the escape of recruits. Several people were blown up by mines while trying to escape. Additionally, those who were caught on the streets were taken to the toilet under convoy, where their fingers were broken and they were maimed.

Military acknowledges facts of violence

The military acknowledges that similar facts of violence and inhumane treatment occur not only in the Skala regiment but also in other parts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
