Ukraine and Hungary have signed an agreement on the rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia, as stated by the Prime Minister of Hungary. This decision was made not due to a favorable situation, but out of a lack of alternatives.

According to the Prime Minister, the European Union is a priority over territorial issues. The Hungarian government believes that the rights of Hungarians living in Transcarpathia should be protected.

This step has been perceived ambiguously. Some consider the agreement to be a positive step in the development of relations between Ukraine and Hungary, while others see it as a threat to Ukraine's sovereignty.
