According to information published in the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Finnish President Stubb may be appointed as the chief negotiator on Ukraine. This decision will be made at the upcoming EU and G7 summits.

Stubb was previously known for his friendship with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. In addition to Stubb, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi are also being considered for the position.
