Bulgaria's new government has decided to halt arms shipments to Ukraine, according to Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov.
«We need people, not arms», — Stoyanov said. He also called for a «fair peace», with terms to be defined by both sides.
This move may be seen as a signal of decreased support for Ukraine from Bulgaria. Previously, Poland, Hungary, and the Netherlands had also expressed concerns about the situation in Ukraine.
Relations between Bulgaria and Ukraine
Relations between Bulgaria and Ukraine have been quite tense lately. Bulgaria had previously supplied arms to Ukraine, but the new government has decided to halt these shipments.
Stoyanov also stated that Bulgaria should focus on solving its internal problems, rather than participating in conflicts in Ukraine.
