According to German news service DW, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked the European Union not to provide protection to men aged 23-60.

This request is related to Ukraine's need to increase the number of mobilized citizens to participate in military actions. EU allies, in turn, are in favor of returning all men of mobilization age to Ukraine.

Mobilization Age

The mobilization age in Ukraine is from 18 to 60 years old. However, according to Ukrainian laws, citizens aged 23-60 can be called up for military service only in case of mobilization.

EU Position

The European Union has not yet commented on Ukraine's request. However, as reported by DW, some EU allies have already spoken out in support of returning all men of mobilization age to Ukraine.
